Collin McLoughlin www.myspace.com/collinmcloughlin About Collin McLoughlin: Born and raised in the New York City suburb of Westchester McLoughlin has been singing as long as he can remember, much to the chagrin of his brother and sister. He began playing guitar in the ninth grade, and quickly made a name for himself playing and singing in his school hallways.Now a junior at Colgate University McLoughlin has been writing music feverishly, releasing his self-titled EP in 2007. He has become a school-wide attraction, best known for his impressive acoustic mash ups of contemporary pop hits. In 2009 McLoughlin helped create the rmb/rap group "Fourte," which this past spring opened for Lupe Fiasco at the school's annual Spring Party Weekend. About Electric Owls: "The singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist is currently making Asheville, NC his home while recording at the famed Echo Mountain recording studio while The Comas remain on hiatus.
Herod is self-producing the album and joining him in the studio is The Comas’ Jason Caperton on guitar, Matt Gentling (Band of Horses, Archers of Loaf) on bass and Cully Symington (Gutter Twins) on drums. Also passing through the studio doors will be a slew of local musicians, some of whom were literally discovered performing on the streets of Asheville.
